How to Avoid Distraction.

I am in the process of learning the art of blogging. While on my desktop everything else looks so interesting and I keep on getting distracted. It gets quite annoying if I want to focus on a particular task and I keep on thinking about the next topic I want to read about.

Do you experience the same thing? I am going to try a couple of options to prevent me from deviating from the task at hand.

I am going to implement the following based on my research on the internet.

The 7 basic tips are as follows

  1. Organize what I need to do with my To-Do list.
  2. All social media alerts turned off.
  3. Set short term goals. What is it I want to achieve by tomorrow?
  4. Cut down external noise using head phones.
  5. Prepare environment to be study friendly.
  6. Organize my work space. Everything I need is within an arm’s length.
  7. Celebrate accomplishments with a short celebration.

1 – Prepare a To-Do list.

Write down in summary what I want to achieve and set the date. This will assist me to track where I am and if I have to make alternative plans to achieve my goal.

2 – Turn off alerts

I have turned off any notifications on my cell phone and desktop to prevent me from losing focus and distracting e from my short-term and long-term goal (Online income exceeding $100/day).

3 – Divide work into small steps.

View all the online training and compile a list of all the inputs or activities required. Set Target date per step. So, I will understand what is required. Just storming into the training without a proper guide can cause confusion.

4 – Eliminate external noise

Using headphones will reduce the noise and if you require music researchers suggest listening to classic or instrumental music to improve concentration.

5 – Prepare my environment to study.

I cannot study in a noisy environment. Even trying to go sit where there is a lot of noise and try to block out the noise in my case will not work. I know based on my experience I have to sit in a chair at a desk not too cold and not too hot. No tight-fitting shoes or clothes.

6 – Organize your workspace

A cluttered desk can lead to anxiety and disorganization.

An organized environment can motivate a person.

7 – Celebrate accomplishment. Once a week take the time to celebrate what you have achieved. Take one extended break.
